What to see in Birstonas? The surroundings of Birštonas, curved by the Nemunas River, are definitely worth seeing from above. Then all the beauty is revealed! You can view the resort from a height by climbing to the site of the Birštonas observation tower, which is located at a height of 45 meters, and the entire height of the tower is even 55 meters! Lovers of heights will also like the newly installed climbing tower "Smagu lipti!". It is a 12-meter climbing tower with 7 walls and as many as 26 different routes that can be tried in both summer and winter seasons. What else to see? Birštonos mound, also known as Vytautas hill, this mound is one of the most famous and highest in Lithuania (about 40 meters). Once upon a time, the wooden castle of Birštonas stood on it and it was one of the hunting estates of Duke Vytautas. The castle was first mentioned in historical sources in the 14th century. at the end, it was repeatedly attacked by the Crusader Order, but unsuccessfully. By the way, after climbing the hill, you can enjoy an extremely beautiful view of the bend of the Nemunas. A truly wonderful panorama opens up!
